The Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila has commiserated with the Igbo nation on the death of the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Professor George Obiozor.
Gbajabiamila expressed sadness on the death of the elder statesman, saying “he was a role model to many.”
The Speaker said he received the news of Obiozor’s death with shock, praying to God to repose his soul.
Gbajabiamila sent heartfelt condolences to all Igbo sons and daughters and indeed all Nigerians around the world over the painful loss.
The speaker also prayed to God to give his family and the entire Igbo people the fortitude to bear the loss.
Professor George Obiozor passed on after a brief illness at the age of 80.
He was elected president-general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide in January 2021.
