The Opening Ceremony of the 20th edition of the National Sports Festival (NSF) kicked off on Tuesday night at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin, Edo State.
The Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Sunday Dare was at the colorful event which featured march-past from all the participating states including FCT.
The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy, Philip Shaibu, the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State, were amongst the dignitaries present at the occasion.
The 20th NSF was postponed severally due to Covid-19 pandemic. It was initially scheduled for March 20 to April 6th, 2020 but was called off due to the ravaging pandemic.
The sporting event will end on April 14.
The 19th edition was held in FCT in 2019 and Delta State won it while Edo State emerged as the host of the 20th edition.
