Bandits have returned five students of Government Day Secondary School Kaya in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara state.
The Zamfara State Police Command confirmed the news of the return of five students and described the return as “unconditional and safe rescue.”
The Commissioner of Police CP Ayuba Elkanapsc has assured the people of the State that, the Police would sustain the ongoing search and rescue effort to ensure that the remaining abducted students are rescued hale and hearty.
The abduction of the Kaya students is the latest in a series of mass school kidnappings in the northern region, with at least 73 students kidnapped on Wednesday.
In response to the worsening state of insecurity, on Wednesday, the State Government ordered the immediate closure of primary and secondary schools.
