The Nigerian Senate has confirmed Farouk Yahaya as the new COAS.
The Senate on Tuesday took the decision to confirm Yahaya following the consideration of a report from its joint committee on Defence and Army led by Senators Ali Ndume and Aliyu Wammako.
The President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan had on June 2, referred the request of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.), for Yahaya’s confirmation to the committees.
