The departing Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has revealed his surprising decision to leave the club at the end of the season..

Klopp stated, “I am, how can I say it, running out of energy. I have no problem now, obviously, I knew it already for longer that I will have to announce it at one point, but I am absolutely fine now. I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again.”

Since then, several candidates have been linked to the job, including Xabi Alonso, who chose to stay at Bayer Leverkusen, and Ruben Amorin of Sporting CP. Fenway Sports, the owners of Liverpool, have begun preparations for life after the 56-year-old German tactician by appointing a new manager.

Recent reports have confirmed Liverpool securing the services of Dutch manager Arne Slot in a deal that could potentially involve a compensation fee of up to €15m to Feyenoord. This makes him the most expensive Dutch coach ever, with further paperwork and agreements to be completed over the weekend.
