The Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has emerged as the new Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum.
His emergency was by consensus following a closed-door meeting of the Governors, held in Abuja late into Tuesday night.
One of the top political leaders in the North-central zone of Nigeria, Governor Abdulrazaq is known to be foresight-driven and a brilliant administrator.
He succeeds the outgoing Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, who became the Forum’s chairman in 2022.
An astute and well established personality in the African and Global business communities, Governor Abdulrahman brings vast experiences in geopolitics, to pilot the NGF towards collaborative development and excellence in governance at the sub-national level.
He is expected to focus on partnerships and collaborations to fast-track a “pro-development culture” across all states of the Federation.
