The Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade has proposed a budget of N330b for the 2023 fiscal year.

Governor Ayade made the proposal at the presentation of the appropriation bill before the Cross River State House of Assembly in Calabar, the state capital.

Christened “Budget of Quantum Infinitum,” Governor Ayade described the bill as “a citizen’s budget that would serve to complete all his programmes.”

He said; “We have appropriated N330b for 2023. Thirty-nine percent of the budget is for Recurrent Expenditure, which is N130b while Capital Expenditure is taking 69% and that is N200b to kinetically crystalise all the projects.”

Speaking further, the Governor expressed the hope that the budget contribute to enable efforts aimed at decoupling the state from federal allocation.

He stressed the need for Cross River State to create an economy that would restore the corporate existence of the state and people.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Mr. Eteng William commended the Governor for instituting programmes and projects that have positively impacted the lives of the people in the state.
