The Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo has received the Labour Party, LP presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi who paid him a private visit in Awka the state capital.
Both leaders had a mutual discussion behind closed doors. Afterward, Mr. Peter Obi commended Governor Soludo for the great job he is doing in the State.
Governor Soludo welcomed Obi to Anambra as a prominent son of the State and wished him well on his Presidential bid for the 2023 General election.
Addressing the Press shortly after the meeting, Governor Soludo said that he played host to Obi as an Anambra indigene and a former Governor of the state.
He reiterated that the former Governor served the state well irrespective of religious, social, or political stratification.
“It’s a private visit and private conversation. Obi was a former Governor of Anambra State under the All Progressives Grand Alliance and so, you know he is the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, he stopped by on a courtesy call to intimate me of his ambition and candidature under the Labour party,” the Governor stated.
Governor Soludo described Obi as a friend and a brother.
“Peter Obi is of the Labour party and there is Professor Peter Umeadi who is the Presidential candidate of APGA. The two of them are from Anambra State and I wish them the best of luck. We are all going to campaign freely and Nigerians will make their choice. So, the details of our conversations are private,” the Governor explained.
He said; “I wish anyone from Anambra state running for any political office the best of luck.”
On his part, Mr. Peter Obi commended Soludo and expressed strong confidence in his ability to succeed as the Governor of Anambra state.
