The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP is set for the National Convention, where its Presidential flag-bearer for the 2023 presidential election will be elected.
Delegates are arriving at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, where the event is taking place amid tight security.
More than 10 aspirants are vying for the presidential ticket of the PDP. But the battle seems to be majorly between Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and former Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
These three and others will share a total number of 810 delegates’ votes, coming across the 36 states of the federation and the FCT.
PDP sold 17 forms to its presidential aspirants. Two were disqualified during the screening and a former Governor of Anambra of State Peter, Obi resigned on Friday. Also another aspirant, Alhaji Mohammed Hayatudeen backed out of the race.
