A 32-year old Nigerian and Development Management Expert from Kwara State has signified interest to contest for the Ilorin West/Asa Federal House of Representatives seat under the platform of the ruling All Progressives  Congress (APC).
Muktar Shagaya, the son of a Nigerian Business Mogul, Hajia Muinat Shagaya is contesting in line with the Not Too Young To Rule Law, ahead of the 2023 General elections.
He made his declaration at a symposium organised by his Political movement in Ilorin, Kwara state capital, North Central Nigeria.
Speaking at the forum,  Shagaya said; “his aspiration was born out to contribute his quota to the development of his constituency and secure a quality and better representation for his constituents.”
He said that if elected, he would focus on the need of his constituents and also provide direct developments to the grassroots.
Shagaya who seeks support for his aspiration and the All Progressive Congress (APC) ahead of the party primaries, stressed that “Ilorin West and Asa Federal constituency would record quality representation through him if given the opportunity.”
The aspirant is an undergraduate,  International Relations (BSc 2:1) University Of Plymouth, United Kingdom,

holds a Masters degree in International Development: Development Management (Ma), University of Manchester, United Kingdom.

He is also the Executive Director, at Asolar Systems Nigeria Limited, a  renewable energy company that provides solar home systems to Nigerians, particularly in rural communities.
