Nigeria’s governing party, the All Progressives Congress, APC has set February 26th to hold its long overdue National Convention.

The National Chairman of the APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Governor Mai Mala Buni stated this in his speech at the Progressives Women’s Conference holding Abuja.

At the National Convention, Executives will be elected to manage the party for the next four years and lead it during the 2023 General Election in the country.

Governor Buni encouraged more women to contest for positions at the National Convention.

He said; “We look forward to having more women contesting in the forthcoming National Convention of the party on February 26th, 2022, and the general elections. 

“As we approach the convention, and draw closer to the general elections, I wish to remind you of your Progressives roles and supporting progressive minded leaders aspiring for various offices for the betterment of our country. 

“You should enlighten your spouse and children, fathers, mothers, neighbours and in-laws and the larger society that elections are not do or die affair.” 

“We should promote peaceful elections and service delivery against personal gains. 

“Let me once again assure, that APC will continue to support you and support you generously” Governor Buni said.

Meanwhile the Secretary of the National Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Senator John Akpanudoedehe told journalists that the Committee was currently in a meeting and details would be revealed after the meeting.
