The Nigerian Senate has passed a bill establishing the Electoral Offences Commission in the country.
The Senate also confirmed five Commissioners of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC on Tuesday, out of the seven nominees appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Notable among the two nominees not confirmed by the Senate is Mrs. Lauretta Onochie who was to represent Delta state in the Commission.
Meanwhile the confirmation of Professor Sani Muhammad Adam representing north central region, was put on hold for further investigation.
