The Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru has reiterated his commitment towards improving the welfare of the frontline troops.
He made this known during his Sallah visit to troops Maimalari Cantonment Maiduguri on Friday.
The COAS commissioned two blocks of officers and soldiers accommodations, promising that ‘‘more accommodations for troops will be built across the Army barracks in the country.”

General Attahiru said again that improving troop’s welfare especially those at the frontline is paramount to achieving his vision for the Nigerian Army.
He also approved two 100 KVA Generators to provide back up power for the newly commissioned accommodations.
The Army Chief further pledged to support Operation HADIN KAI with better platforms that would expedite the defeat of terrorists across the North East and Nigeria at large.
General Attahiru arrived in Maiduguri with the Chief of Operations (Army) Major General IM Yusuf and other Principal Staff Officers of the Army Headquarters.
The theatre Commander, Major General Farouk Yahaya, gave them an update of their efforts so far in combating security challenges.
In response, General Attahiru assured them of President Buhari’s support and commended the troops for the “their gallantry and for turning challenges to gains.”
The COAS thereafter, hosted the troops including wounded and recuperating for Eid al-Fitr luncheon and personally served them with lunch and drinks. He also prayed for speedy recovery of the wounded soldiers.
