The Queen of England has congratulated the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate Middleton on their 10th Wedding Anniversary.
In a statement from the Royal family, ”the Queen wished William, 38, and Kate Middleton, 39, a very happy wedding anniversary… Today marks ten years since Their Royal Highnesses exchanged vows at Westminster Abbey.”
The couple met while studying at St Andrews University in Scotland in 2001, before they began dating in 2003. They dated for seven years before tying the knot on April 29, 2011.
In 2007, the couple suffered a split for several months and then reconciled again in the following. They announced their engagement publicly in 2010 with a famous portrait which showed Kate wearing Princess Diana’s sapphire engagement ring.
The Duke Of Cambridge and Katherine, the Duchess Of Cambridge, as they are formally known now have three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The family live in a sprawling 20-room apartment in Kensington Palace.
Their historic wedding took place at Westminster Abbey, more than one million people gathered between the church and Buckingham Palace to watch the royal couple riding on-board their horse-drawn carriage. About two billion people watched the ceremony around the world.
On Wednesday, April 28, a day to their actual anniversary, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared the never-before-seen photographs taken by Chris Floyd at Kensington Palace over the weekend. Kate wore a blue wrap-dress, while Prince William wore a navy blue sweater over a button-up shirt.
