Queen Elizabeth II paid her final respects to her husband of 73 years, Prince Philip, on Saturday, at a slimmed-down yet special celebration of life for the Duke of Edinburgh.
Prince Philip’s funeral brought Prince Harry together with his family as he publicly reunited with his dad and brother after his departure from the royal family over a year ago.
The Duke of Sussex, who arrived in the UK last week, attended the funeral of his grandfather, Prince Philip, alongside his father, Prince Charles, and brother, Prince William. Prince Harry’s wife Meghan, 39, watched the funeral live on television from the couple’s home, 5,000 miles away in California after being advised by her Doctor not to travel because of her pregnancy.
Prince Charles and Prince Williams would take decision on the family’s affairs.
According to reports, ”Prince Williams and his father, Prince Charles are set to have a royal summit to decide on the future of the Royal family after the death of the Duke of Edinburgh.”
Some of the major issues to be looked into are the departure of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and stepping down from royal duties. This surely left the royal family under-staffed.
Also what to do with Philip’s hundreds of patronages and how many working full staff the royal family should have, would be discussed.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, the husband of England’s Queen Elizabeth ll, was buried on April 17, 2021. Prior to his burial, a church service in his honour was held at St George’s chapel at Windsor Castle.
The ceremony, held according England’s guidelines on Coronavirus had only 30 people in attendance. The attendees include members of the royal family, relatives and few close friends of the Duke.
After the service, Prince Philip was interred in the Royal Vaults of St George’s Chapel. However this is not his final resting place, when the Queen dies the Duke will be transferred to the gothic church’s King George VI memorial chapel (on her death will be buried at this chapel) to lie alongside his wife of 73 years. The Queen’s mother and her sister, Princess Margret were all buried in the chapel alongside her father. George VI died in 1952, but was first interred in the Royal Vault and later moved to the memorial chapel after it was built 17 years later.
Prince Philip died at the age of 99 on April 9 and was the longest-serving consort and married to the queen for 73 years. 
After almost 70 years as monarch, the Queen will now reign without her husband of 73 years by her side; no doubt the Duke of Edinburgh will be greatly missed by the Royal family.
